Dr. Thomas Owens is an author, speaker and trainer and is the principal strategist at Strategic Influence Alternatives, where he serves others by accelerating excellence. His background and experience come from a 20-year career serving in the U.S. Army in combat arms (Infantry) and special operations (Psychological Operations) assignments, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Following that, he was the Chief Operations Officer in a defense contracting company that provided support to various U.S. government agencies and departments, supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He currently serves as a founding director and the President of the Christian Business Coalition of Hampton Roads, an organization with a mission to develop leaders to fulfill their God-given purpose through business.

He holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Geography from Western Kentucky University (1988), a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy University (1998) and a Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University (2016).  He also has a 40-hour digital certificate in Leadership Excellence from Kennesaw State University (2018).

He has been married to his wife Tonya since 1987 and they have four daughters. His hobbies include rifle and pistol shooting and horseback riding. He is the author of The SWORD of Leadership: Become the Leader You Are Meant to Be (2019).
